Celebrate Pura Neta Power with us! Pura Neta, published by Pochino Press, is the long awaited sequel to my first novel Barrio Bushido. This video is the virtual Pura Neta book launch, which was held on Wednesday, September 30, 2020. In conjunction with iVIVA!: Latinx Heritage Month, the San Francisco Public Library honored me, Ben Bac Sierra, as their On the Same Page author. They celebrated me as a local author, educator, poet, innovator, and Mission District native. In conversation with award-winning internationally acclaimed author Luis Rodriguez, we shared lots of love and intellect about Pura Neta, Vida Loca, gentrification, mass incarceration, imagination, poetry, philosophy, indigenous power, feminine-masculine spirits, authentic education, and always in all ways, all amor.
I guarantee you will never have seen two vida loca locos in this type of dialogue. Please use and share this video as an educational and spiritual tool for healing and educational purposes.
This is especially valuable because it is unprecedented amor: a San Fran Northern Califas Homey author professor joined with a respected award-winning Southern California Xicanx writer, activist, and loved one, Luis Rodriguez. Imagination and wisdom are beyond borders, make-believe walls that keep us separated and distracted from what is really going on.
Writers are the life-blood of the collective mind. Poets are the pulse of the spirit. Here are two varrio writers who intimately lived La Vida Loca and now are harnessing that energy to battle oppression and to create critical amor.
More than ever, now is the time for gente to unite for our universal empowerment.
It is my honor to have you here for our discussion and to also guide you to purchase Pura Neta through Pochino Press. https://pochino-press.square.site/product/pura-neta/29?cs=true
