Poem: “Sunday Sidewalk”

“Sunday Sidewalk”

From a Sunday afternoon, a nothing, our Amor emerged

My gaze, which had slept for too long, was dreaming of you, had always dreamed of this moment to look upon your face

It was not fire but nothing—a peace that felt delight in the unknown

Speechless, I could not tell you I Love You because words no longer existed

You just walked on by, and my gaze walked with you

There is no way to explain the happiness of a Sunday afternoon, a nothing
