On Monday, March 15, 2021, our Brother Marco “Tony” Guardado was diagnosed with acute Leukemia. Since then he has suffered through the most intense medical treatments and is still hospitalized. We do not yet know his medical outcome. Every day is a battle. Please keep Marco in your prayers.

Born and raised in the City, Marco has been a staple of the Mission district and San Francisco as a whole. He attended City College of San Francisco for over a decade. He has dedicated his life to helping others in an intimate and community-based manner. At any moment, Marco would have helped you. He did not care about accumulating wealth or fitting into fixed standards. He loved catching the bus, riding his bike, and walking everywhere he went. If you needed help moving, he would help you. If you needed positive energy, he always had a smile and time to listen to you.

Now it is time for us to help him.

He had been working at Recreation and Parks in the Bayview/Hunters Point district, but we have been notified that he will be unable to work for at least a year. He is the sole caretaker of his elderly mother. He has an eight year old daughter who he hopes to help through all of this. Marco will require professional care and attention.

It is Marco’s wish to raise funds through this Gofundme page. OG community legend “Uncle” Ray Balberan and I, Ben Bac Sierra, have joined to promote this Gofundme page so that Marco can continue to get the support he needs. These funds will be redistributed to help his mother, his daughter, and Marco, himself.
