“Life Is Also a Mask”
I don’t really have anything to say, so I’ll say it anyway just so there is no longer silence.
With these words, I exist. With this mask, I join the cult of humanity.
I wear its animal head, and when I look into the mirror, I scare myself.
The mirror breaks at my ugliness.
In this way, I live, but not really, because life is also a mask.
The sun sets, and it can’t be more beautiful.
Wherever the night takes me, there is where I’m going.
Eventually, I dream where nothing makes sense, and I know I am home.
